Floors that held up

Most forum reports date from 2015 to 2020 and some involve older lines, such as the 10 mm Swift Lock floor, rather than today’s 8 and 12 mm Taploc planks.

The one allen + roth tile whose full spec sheet we could read, from a retailer that mirrors the Lowe’s listing: matte porcelain, about 9.8 mm thick, frost resistant and impervious, with a DCOF above 0.42 and V3 shade variation. It goes down in thinset with a suggested 3/16-in grout line, and carries a 1-year limited warranty.
What tile owners say
The black and white Cementina 8 x 8 in encaustic, a glazed ceramic, rates 4.4 out of 5 from 216 reviews; owners found it easy to cut, used it in a shower, and one said it was not slippery after a year in a bathroom. One buyer got two different tile sizes under the same item number and packaging, so check every carton before you set the first row.

The white plank is pine, 9/16 x 5-1/4 in and 8 ft long, factory-painted to match Valspar Ultra-White (#773962). It goes on walls or ceilings, vertical or horizontal, straight to the studs or over drywall.
A fluted version in Iron Ore paint is finger-jointed pine with a touch-up color of HGSW7069, fixed with finishing nails or brads, and is for interior use only. There is also a 6-pack of thinner 5/16-in finished white pine slat wall planks, just under 4 ft long, that covers about 10.4 sq ft.
