Every current gazebo and pergola, drawn to one scale. The name on the box rounds the size, so a “10 x 12” can be anything from 9 x 11 ft between the posts to 10.6 x 12.3 ft. One owner of a 10 x 10 hardtop noticed the same thing: the footprint was not a true 10 x 10.

allen and roth hardtop gazebo, soft top or louvered roof
The roof decides how much looking after it needs. A hardtop has no canopy to wear out; a soft top’s fabric needs replacing and comes down for storms; a louvered pergola lets you open the roof to the sky.
Gabled hardtop
Galvanized steel panels on a cedar frame (TPGAZ2341, TPGAZ2528). The manuals say to clear snow off the roof.
Two-tier hardtop
A steel roof with a raised second tier (TGZ68917; GFM60901L has a double roof). TGZ68917 comes with zippered netting.
Soft top
Polyester stretched over a steel frame (TPGAZ2403C, 9.7 ft high). The manuals say to take it down in high wind, heavy rain or snow.
Louvered pergola
Metal blades you turn with a hand crank (TPL25120): closed for rain, vertical for snow.

Lowe’s lists three allen + roth pergolas. All three are freestanding metal frames; they differ in what covers the top.
- allen and roth louvered pergola
- 10 x 12 ft, 7 ft 3 in high, black, with zippered netting on all four sides. You turn the roof blades with a hand crank. The manual says to close them when rain starts, set them upright in snow, and open them slowly after rain so the water drains. Lowe’s lists a 2-year warranty; the manual says 1 year. Item 6034650, model TPL25120.
- Arc-roof pergola with canopy
- Dark brown powder-coated steel with a beige sling canopy and two polyester side panels, about 100 sq ft of shade, with post holes for anchoring. The listing gives three different sizes, so read its dimensions guide. Owners rate it 4.4 from 190 reviews; one found the canopy is not rainproof and the curtains faded within a week. Item 5106735, model TPPER9137.
- Retractable-roof pergola
- 120 x 120 in and 93 in high, matte brown steel with wood-grain galvanized posts. The canopy draws open with a handle, and curtains hang on all four sides. Clear heavy snow off it right away. Item 5276101, model TPPER2401A.
How long an allen and roth gazebo takes to build
The manuals quote two to three hours for most models. Owners building the hardtops report most of a day or more, and several recommend three people. One owner put up two units over three days.

Check every part before you start. The manuals say not to build if anything is missing or damaged, and to call customer service before returning it. Owners have received cracked cedar posts and dented parts, and one found that a return meant taking the whole gazebo apart again.
Read the roof diagrams twice. One owner of a 12 x 12 hardtop found the roof beam and panel drawings the hardest part to follow. A pergola owner warns that washers of different sizes get mixed up.

How to anchor an allen and roth gazebo
Anchor it before the first windy day. The cedar gazebos and the arc-roof pergola have pre-drilled holes in the posts for this, and the louvered pergola’s manual gives the tolerances for where the anchors go.
Grass or soft ground
Stakes through the base plates. The manuals allow stakes only in grass or soft ground.
Wood deck
Expansion bolts or sheet-metal screws through the plate holes, which you buy yourself, per the soft-top manuals.
Space around it
At least 6 ft from buildings, fences, branches and power lines, and 10 ft between two gazebos (GFM60901L and L-GZ340PCO-5 manuals).
On concrete, read your own manual first: the hardtop manuals for L-GZ340PCO-5 and GFM60901L say the frame is not meant to be fixed permanently to concrete. One owner’s two-year video shows a soft top lag-screwed to a deck that came through severe storms and some snow. Another owner fixed a threaded insert that had spun loose with a self-tapping screw.
Weather, care and what you can hang
- Wind and snow
- No listing or manual we read gives a wind or snow rating. The manuals say to take canopies and netting down in high wind, heavy rain or snow, and to clear snow off a hardtop roof right away. One owner’s canopy tore in winds under 50 mph eight months in; another owner’s hardtop roof is noisy in wind.
- Before winter
- Drain water out of the frame tubes, because trapped water can freeze and crack them. Small pinholes in the tubing are normal.
- Cleaning
- Soap and water. The GFM60901L manual suggests liquid wax against sun and salt air, and hand-washing the canopy, never in a dryer. An older hardtop manual treats light surface rust with a thin coat of cooking oil.
- Lights, fans and chandeliers
- TPGAZ2341, TPGAZ2528, TGZ68917 and the older TPGAZ17-002 have a ceiling hook rated for 50 lb. An older hardtop, L-GZ340PCO-5, allows only 33 lb.
- Fire
- The GFM60901L manual says not to light any fire inside or near it. Keep flames and heat well away from soft-top fabric.

Owners say a soft-top canopy lasts about a year; one replaced a faded canopy after about four. Canopies are cut for one frame, so find the model number on your manual or box first, then match it here, including any suffix such as -1.

How do I anchor an allen and roth gazebo?
Use stakes through the base plates on grass or soft ground, and expansion bolts or sheet-metal screws that you supply on a wood deck. Keep it at least 6 ft from buildings, fences, branches and power lines, and check your manual before fixing it to concrete.
Who makes allen and roth gazebos?
Lowe’s does not say, and the manuals name only LF, LLC, the Lowe’s company that owns the trademark. Other sources point to different suppliers by model: Garden Winds names Eurow for the GF-12S004B and TPGAZ17-002 dome gazebos and Sunjoy for the Finial and Wicker gazebos, and a rep answering as TaiPeng Gazebo supported the cedar TPGAZ2341 on Lowe’s Q&A.
How big is the allen and roth 10×12 gazebo really?
It depends on the model: 10.6 x 12.3 ft for the cedar hardtop, 9 x 11 ft post to post for the steel hardtop with screen, 9.84 x 11.81 ft listed for the double-roof steel model, and 10 x 12 ft for the soft top. Check the Dimensions Guide on the product page.
Can an allen and roth gazebo stay up in winter?
No snow or wind rating is published. The manuals say to take soft canopies and netting down for heavy rain, snow and high wind, clear snow off hardtop roofs right away, and drain the frame tubes so trapped water cannot freeze and crack them.
Is there an allen and roth winter gazebo cover?
We found no allen + roth winter cover. For the 12 x 10 dome gazebo, Garden Winds sells a rain cover, GCP1018BL. The manuals’ advice for snow is to take the canopy off.
Can I hang a fan or chandelier in it?
Several models have a ceiling hook rated for 50 lb: TPGAZ2341, TPGAZ2528, TGZ68917 and TPGAZ17-002. The older L-GZ340PCO-5 hardtop’s hook is rated for 33 lb.
Do allen and roth gazebos come with netting or curtains?
Some do. TGZ68917 and the louvered pergola have zippered netting on all four sides, TPGAZ2403C has netting and a privacy sidewall, and the retractable pergola has curtains on all four sides. RONA lists a replacement curtain with netting, TPGAZ17-002S, for the older 12 x 10 gazebo.
