Will a Platform kit fit your alcove?
Measure the back wall from side wall to side wall, and each side wall from the back corner to the open front where the tub or base ends. The plans below show both allen and roth shower wall panel kits in your space, to scale.
The Davidson 60 sliding door fits openings from 58-7/16 to 60-1/16 in wall to wall. This opening is inside that range.
- Back wall: full-size panels, no cut.
- Side walls: full-size panels, no cut.
- Back wall: the panels are 12 in short.
- Side walls: cut about 2 in off the panels.
Panels can be cut down but not stretched. Cut from a plain edge: the manual says not to trim the tongue-and-groove edges. In the plans, green bars are the panels and dashed bars are wall the kit would not cover. Both are drawn to scale.
How the Platform kit goes in
The manual puts the job at about four hours. Double-sided tape comes in the box; the construction adhesive and the silicone do not.
- Check all nine panels first. Owners have found chips from shipping and, in one kit, three panels in a different shade. One owner could not return a kit once it was opened.
- Prepare the wall. The panels go over waterproof backer board or over existing tile.
- Dry-fit and cut. Owners cut the panels with a circular saw or table saw and used a hole saw for the valve; scoring by hand was hard going. Leave the tongue-and-groove edges uncut.
- Back wall, panels 1 to 3. Tape plus construction adhesive. The back panels angle in and lock together. One owner found the adhesive grabbed at once, so place each panel carefully.
- Left wall, panels 4 to 6, then right wall, 7 to 9. The side panels have bevelled edges.
- Seal and wait. Run silicone along the joints and give it about 24 hours before the first shower. The top edge is not rounded like the sides, so plan a trim there.

Sizes as seen in Lowe’s listings. There are no in-store samples, and owners say the colors differ in person: one found Carrara White not a true white, another saw bluish or purple veining where she expected gray.

allen and roth Noah tub
The Noah is an oval freestanding soaking tub, so it stands in the open room rather than in an alcove with a wall kit. Check the footprint, the drain position and the way in before you order.

Look it over before it goes in: the warranty asks for visual defects to be returned before installation, and it does not pay for removal or reinstalling. RONA in Canada sells the same model number as the OVE Decors Noah. The same Lowe’s page lists two other allen + roth tubs, the oval Rachel at 34.25 x 71 in and the rectangular Morgan at 32 x 60 in. Davidson sliding door
The Davidson 60 glass panel door fits openings from 58-7/16 to 60-1/16 in wall to wall, so it suits the 60-in alcove. Chrome (item 3492209) or satin nickel (item 3492213), and it can be set to open either way. Its manual gives the door 5 years of warranty. Ellum and Wilmer doors are also sold under the brand.
Matching shower bases
Lowe’s groups some Platform walls with a base, such as the 48-in White Subway and 60-in Shale wall and base collections. Dry-fit the panels to the base before any glue goes on: one installer needed custom cuts to make the panels meet the pan.
Porcelain panel walls
allen + roth also sells a 78-in Statuary porcelain tile shower wall: gauged porcelain panels 77.5 x 28.62 in and 0.24 in thick, set in thin-set over cement board. Its manual shows a 60 x 30 alcove taking 4 panels, 4 corner moldings and 2 trims.

Lowe’s does not say. Replies to Platform reviews on lowes.com are signed Craft + Main, which points to it as the supplier, but no manual or listing we found confirms it.
Is JetCoat an allen and roth shower wall?
No. JetCoat is a CRAFT + MAIN brand from FGI Industries, sold at Lowe’s next to Platform. The 60 x 36 in kit you may see there is one of theirs, not allen + roth.
Can the panels go over existing tile?
Yes. Lowe’s and the manual list waterproof backer board or existing tile as the base for the glue-up panels.
Does the Platform system need grout?
No, the panels are grout-free. You do need silicone and construction adhesive, which are sold separately; the double-sided tape is in the box.
